Given the situation of uncertainty and concern that is currently existing in the travel sector due to the latest news received about the coronavirus-COVID19, we wish to inform you the measures taken by Europamundo.
The whole Europamundo family is working very hard to handle the situation in the best way. We are aware that these are days of deep concern for many of our travelers and travel agents and we want to explain our point of view and the actions we are going to take considering the circumstances that exist at the moment.
Travelers, Travel Agents at Europamundo, we wish to provide relief in the following ways:
MEASURES TO BE TAKEN BY EUROPAMUNDO:
1 – MAXIMUM INFORMATION AND TRANSPARENCY.
Through our social networks, and through the information offered to the traveler in “My Trip”, and in circulars to our representatives, we will inform about the tourist situation and the limitations that may exist in our tour circuits (closure of some tourist spots, changes in services …).
2 – TRAVELERS WHO ARE AT THIS TIME ON THE ROAD AND GO THROUGH AREAS CONSIDERED TO BE AT RISK:
For us, the safety of our travelers is our top priority, and for this reason, we will adopt the measures we consider necessary to minimize risks.
At this moment all the travelers of Europamundo are well, continuing with their itinerary, although at the moment some monuments and centers of interest have already been closed for tourism. Our travelers are accompanied and advised by our team of guides at all times.
- ALTERNATIVE ACTIVITIES – In those activities closed from this moment to tourism, we are offering alternative visits/excursions that keep the best possible tourist interest.
If the traveler requests it during the trip, they are offered the option of changing their destination.
3 – CHANGES REQUESTED BY THE TRAVELER:
We are currently authorizing the change of destination or departure date without any penalty. We seek to make it as easy as possible for travelers who may be afraid to change their destination.
It is possible that some of the departures on some tours (visiting Italy mostly) may be canceled from April to June. In the event of cancellation of few tour departure dates, we will offer similar alternative routes to all the travelers who are currently enrolled to travel with us (as you know our offering of tour routes is immense in Europe, the number of departures and similar routes very high). The possibilities of offering similar alternatives without variation of dates may be offered in almost all cases.
4 – CANCELLATION REQUESTED BY THE TRAVELER:
More than a month before the departure date:
No expenses will be billed except for those that we must assume (example: special cancellation conditions – cruise travel – trains …). IMPORTANT: Remember that Europamundo offers terrestrial circuits, the expenses generated by the cancellation of air tickets are not the responsibility of Europamundo.
- Immediate departures, with less than a month:No expenses will be billed except for those that we must assume (example: special cancellation conditions – trips with cruises – some hotel night if the cancellation is very close to the departure date, trains …). IMPORTANT: Remember that Europamundo offers land tours, the expenses generated by the cancellation of air tickets are not the responsibility of Europamundo.
5- CHANGES OR CANCELLATIONS FOR REASONS OUTSIDE EUROPAMUNDO:
In the event that any departure or destination must be canceled, WE WILL OFFER AN ALTERNATIVE TRIP that, WITHOUT CHANGING THE DEPARTURE DATE, visits the same destinations (visiting the same points, changing the order of visits or with limited changes), for this in Sometimes some of the alternative trips will include an air or high-speed train section, with the expense generated by those tickets being issued by Europamundo) or part of the circuit may be operated by another service provider that we will select or by using public means of transport.
If in any case we could not maintain an exit or offer a similar alternative tour then we proposed to the traveler a change of date: if that change of date forces the traveler to change their plane ticket, Europamundo WILL BARE the cost of the expense generated by the change of the ticket (we will authorize with proof of expense as well as a copy of the original ticket and EMV may limit the expense to a maximum value equivalent to the amount of a new ticket with any airline). This condition applies only on tours with 8 days in duration.
The conditions above do not apply if the cancellation occurs due to legal requirements (for example closure of tourist destinations – as it is occurring at this moment in some countries due to the prohibition of entry to travelers who have previously been in certain countries such as Israel, Japan, the United States, and others …).
PROCEDURE: Each traveler who is in any of the aforementioned situations (change of travel date, change of destination, cancellation), must speak directly with their travel agent.
6 – GUARANTEE: We also want to inform our travelers and remind our travel representatives that, for years, Europamundo has a Surety insurance that covers a guarantee of 7,300,000 (7.3 million) euros of coverage to all customers. In the case of hypothetical insolvency, it protects our travelers. We believe that it is the highest insurance in this sense that exists in the travel sector among companies with headquarters in Spain.
